He's not a lefty!

When Moses was 9 months old he broke his arm.
We don't really know how it happened. We noticed it because he was beginning to crawl really well. He was getting really fast and had great form. One Saturday after noon we noticed he wasn't using his right arm.

On Monday morning we called our Pediatrician and they said to bring him in. Upon observation, the doctor did not find any swelling, Moses did not complain when his arm was twisted, bent or pulled. So the doctor said he might just be favoring crawling in his new way.

A week went by and the following Tuesday we called to doctor again. He still wasn't using his arm and we noticed a few times he would pull his right arm away if he had to put pressure on it. We had x-rays on Tuesday and a cast was put on on Wednesday.

He really did quite well for having a cast on. In total he only had it on for 11 days.

He chose blue so it would match his Halloween outfit.

He still played and got around very well.

He used it as a weapon a few times.
And refused to use his left arm to feed himself. Mom had pity on him and feed him, dad made him try to use the left arm- no dice. He's for sure a righty.

We had his friends from church sign his cast the day before he got it off.

Back to normal.
And he's so thankful he can eat by himself again.

We hiked Dead Man's hill

We listed our house the week before Thanksgiving. We will see what happens.

Moses celebrated his first Thanksgiving in D.C. with the Verwys' clan. Major road trip for him but he did great.

Celebrated Rita's birthday and shopped and read.

2 months and growing

Moses has changed a lot in our eyes over the past month. Others who don't spend every waking hour (which still isn't much) with him may not see the subtle changes, but we do! And we enjoy every moment.
Current stats (to be inserted shortly- doctor's appt next week).

Two months old and very smily.

What can a two month old do...
SMILES a lot * kicks his feet like crazy * ride in a front carrier  * shop with his mom and grandma * gets feed every three hours during the day * sleeps all night long drools * has play dates with friends like Mantheis and Detchers *coos * lifts his head high when he has tummy time * loves to be held * but prefers to sleep on his own * enjoys visitors * uses his bouncy seat a lot * travels well in the car
Mom's getting better at taking photos :)

Flint Trip

We went to Flint for the weekend for Ari's baby shower. I didn't get any photos of the shower but they are on facebook if you want to see them.

While we were there Moses met Uncle Dave at Bob Evans.

Moses sucked his thumb.

We went to a Michigan game.

He met Great Grandma and Grandpa Rosencrantz.

I made a diaper cake for Ari's shower... I added more to it before the shower. This is an "in the works" photo.

It was a good trip. We stayed two nights and Moses slept like a champ. He is doing very well with night time sleeping...now we just have to work on napping.

1 month Moses

One Month Ago we welcomed you to the world.

I've searched for cute ideas of how to chart his first 12 months. Many blogged and pinned photos if the baby sitting in a chair. Well, I have a chair and so.....this is what turned out.

Let's just say I won't be becoming a professional photographer any time soon. :) He did a great job letting me try to pose him.

So in a month this is what Moses has been up to...
He makes eye contact
He is smiling at you
He is awake more during the day but sleeping through the night
He enjoys car rides and every time we go out he falls asleep and misses the whole outing.
He is active. When he is awake his legs are moving
He loves to be swaddled at night.
He sucks on a pacifier

He enjoys his baths at night.
He enjoys being held by many people.
He toots and poops and eats and sleeps and coos and does everything else he should.

Vistors from all around...
